Pityriasis Rosea

Posted in [My Life]

At first it started off like insite bite. Just take it as those red ant bite. Later on there’s more appearing on my body, i thought there are fleas or lice on my bed. (which i’m very surprise because i don’t own any pet and i’m a very clean person). Changed my bed sheets, my blanket and mop my whole room. Later on it got worst, i thought i have an allergy especially the last four days. The itchiness is so intense whenever night falls. i could hardly sleep as i have to scratch and scratch until i was too tired to scratch.

Went to see the doctor today for the unbearable itchiness. After looking at all those tiny little spot all over my body, the doctor said it looks like chicken pox. Since i haven’t got any chicken pox yet, so i guess there’s a possibility. This doctor is well known for her thoroughness, so she proceed on to check my face and neck, but there wasn’t any spot at all on my face. More so i did not have fever. She then later on look again at those spots distribution over my body, and she noticed that it actually has a christmas-tree alike distribution (wow, i could celebrate christmas with this tree). She then said, it’s Pityriasis Rosea, some sort of viral infection.

She gave me some Calamine, some really yellowish cream, some antibiotics and some pills to get rid of the itchiness. Now i have to apply Calamine for half and hour and wash it off, then apply the yellowish cream. Have to get totally naked to apply those cream and reach those place that hands could hardly reach my back body as if i’m doing yoga.

First there’s eczema and allergies, then there’s rashes, later on ringworm, followed by scabbies, now Pityriasis Rosea (Rosea? sounded like Phua Chu Kang’s Rosie). All this are dermatology problem. I rarely go visit the doctor because of fever. It has always been skin problem. All sort of skin problem seems like they love me alot.

This is the worst patch of all on my drumstick thigh. The doctor said it’s infected.

All this is going to take me 1 month to subside. If i take the pills for itchiness, i can’t drive as i will fall asleep. I’m thinkin whether to take that itchy pills as it comes in double dose which is really heavy or should i just bear with the itchiness and stop scratching. (the doctor gave me those pills to stop me from scratching)

itchy itchy itchy…
